چکیده

We develop an event generator, NLL-QEDPS, based on the QED shower including the next-to-leading logarithm correction in the e + e − annihilation. The shower model is the Monte Carlo technique to solve the renormalization group equation so that they can calculate contributions of α m log n (S/m 2 e) for any m and n systematically. Here α is the QED coupling, m e is the mass of electron and S is the square of the total energy in the e + e − system. While the previous QEDPS is limited to the leading logarithm approximation which includes only contributions of (α log(S/m 2 e)) n , the model developed here contains terms of α(α log(S/m 2 e)) n , the the next-to-leading logarithm correction. The shower model is formulated for the initial radiation in the e + e − annihilation. The generator based on it gives us events with q 2 , which is a virtual mass squared of the virtual photon and/or Z-boson, in accuracy of 0.04%, except for small q 2 /S.

Next-to-leading 1/N c corrections to the upper bound on M η /M η ′ recently obtained by Georgi are considered. These corrections are just what is needed to reconcile the bound with the observed η and η ′ masses.

We study the factorization scheme dependence of the next-to-leading order inclusive one jet cross section dσ/dET . The scheme is varied parametrically along the direction that transforms the MS scheme to the DIS scheme: we introduce a parameter λ such that λ = 0 is MS and λ = 1 is DIS. The factorization scale μ is also varied. We observe a change of ±9% in the cross section for ET = 50 GeV when...

The B̄ → Xsll decay rate is known at the next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD. It is proportional to αem(μ) 2 and has a ±4% scale uncertainty before including the O (αem ln(M W/mb)) electromagnetic corrections. We evaluate these corrections and confirm the earlier findings of Bobeth et al.. Furthermore, we complete the calculation of logarithmically enhanced electromagnetic effects by including ...

Final-state interaction phase difference in J/ψ → ρη and ωη decays Abstract It is shown that the study of the ω − ρ 0 interference pattern in the J/ψ → (ρ 0 + ω)η → π + π − η decay provides the evidence for the large (nearly 90 •) relative phase between the one-photon and the three-gluon decay amplitudes.

Using the method of renormalization group, we improve the two-loop effective potential of the massive φ4 theory to obtain the next-next-to-leading logarithm correction in the MS scheme. Our result well reproduces the nextnext-to-leading logarithm parts of the ordinary loop expansion result known up to the four-loop order.
